WHAT ARE THE POTENTIAL BENEFITS?
HOW DOES IT WORK
Hypoxi is effective because it requires the client to get their heart rate to an optimum fat burning level and then begins to apply a vacuum therapy to the problem areas. By promoting blood flow to these problematic regions during exercise, Hypoxi is able to dictate where the fat is burnt during the sessions. It has been shown that with Hypoxi, up to 80% of the fatty acids consumed during the treatment are sourced from targeted areas.
WHAT SORT OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT TO ACHIEVE?
Naturally, results are going to vary between each individual. However as a guide, of a random sample of clients taken from a Sydney studio, not one individual lost less than 20cm from all 7 measure points after 12 treatments in the L250.
A controlled study conducted on the effects of Hypoxi training concluded that individuals using Hypoxi lost 3 times more circumference in the lower half of the body than those that carried out conventional exercise. That is, Hypoxi training can dictate/isolate where the majority of fat will be lost during exercise.
ARE RESULTS PERMANENT?
Yes, results are permanent. The body is working the hard-to-target areas and thus, if you maintain a healthy diet and consistent exercise routine the fat should not return to these areas.
IS HYPOXI PAINFUL?
No, it is completely non-invasive and pain-free. Many clients comment that the alternating pressure in the chamber creates an invigorating feeling on the skin. The horizontal position in which the treatment is administered takes pressure off the joints and lowers the client’s heart rate so that the experience is more likened to spa therapy than a form of exercise.
CAN I USE HYPOXI IF I AM NOT VERY FIT?
Hypoxi training is designed for men and women of all fitness levels and ages. Throughout the treatment, your heart rate and skin temperature are constantly monitored. HYPOXI training does not require any particular degree of physical fitness and is perfect for someone who is thinking about getting back into exercise for the first time in years. You will be required to complete a client information form when you attend your studio, as there are certain illnesses & conditions which preclude people from undertaking treatments. If in doubt, we recommend you speak to a medical professional – your safety is paramount to us.
HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK SHOULD HYPOXI BE UNDERTAKEN?
AND HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?
For optimal results, Hypoxi training should be undertaken 2 to 3 times per week for at least 4 to 6 weeks. Thereafter, you might talk to your consultant about undertaking a maintenance program. Training sessions take approximately 30 minutes based on the individual assessment you are given by your Hypoxi operator.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Training should be undertaken in loose fitting gym pants, a t-shirt and joggers. Bring a gym towel with you also.
